Not all protein is created equal. Compare the real numbers before you buy.
This tool compares protein sources across five dimensions: cost per gram (based on 2026 US retail prices), leucine percentage (the key MPS trigger), PDCAAS score (old standard capped at 1.0), DIAAS score (new standard measuring ileal digestibility), and overall digestibility percentage.
Why DIAAS matters: Unlike PDCAAS, DIAAS measures amino acid absorption at the end of the small intestine (ileum), before bacterial fermentation in the colon can inflate scores. A DIAAS above 1.0 means the protein exceeds the reference pattern. Whey isolate scores 1.09, while pea-rice blends can hit 1.16.
Radar chart: The visualization normalizes all metrics to 0-100% scales so you can see trade-offs at a glance. Whey dominates leucine and digestibility but costs more. Plant blends offer better value but require higher total intake.
PDCAAS caps at 1.0. DIAAS doesn't. Here's why the new scoring system matters for your gains.
30g of chicken ≠ 30g of rice protein. Your body knows the difference.
Complete vs incomplete. Leucine vs lysine. The real differences and how to optimize both.
